You're catching up!

UPDATE:
it IS safe to dye/highlight your hair while you are pregnant,
in case you were wondering...

Oh and everything (and everyone) looked healthy and normal. Even the nurse looked at my current weight on the scale (I've gained 7ish lbs in 5 weeks) and said "You're catching up!"

So, now I'm supposed to be celebrating gaining weight? Hm, guess so.
Thanks Ben and Jerry for giving me an A++ at my appointment today,
you two really outdid yourselves ;) Way to go!

Oh and now most of my students' parents know
 the BIG SECRET.
It's a little hard to keep it from them when I had an appt with my Dr. today
during the family picnic in the middle of class time (oops.)
I got the "Wow, are you SURE you are 21 weeks??" face from just about everyone.
Positive.
19 weeks without Aunt Mother Nature knocking at my door.
One of the BEST perks :D

  1. The hair dye thing is good. Have they done any research on if its good for your baby to laugh? What about smile? What about wear eye shadow? What about listen to Metal? What about eat jello?

I wonder about those sort of things.

    Bout mother nature: shuddup.

  2. Hmmm...I will have to look into the list of goodies and badies for the babes.

I know the lil fetusaraus can hear already and babies will actually mimick the rhythm and cadence of their momma's voice and speech when they are crying. They also show signs of recognition to familiar sounds and melodies and can actually hear lower pitched tones better than higher ones (you hear that Mister? He already listens to you better!) Out of all the styles of music, babies liked the symmetrical, predictable classical pieces over the rest, but most likely because it is one of the closest to actual natural human speech patterns. Thank you National Geographic for imparting your wisdom :)
I would think laughing and smiling is just fine...endorphins and dopamine and oxytocin and all that jazz...
Eye shadow? I think my Junior Mister would hate me forever and would conspire to kill me one day...so for me, not such a healthy and wise choice ;)
    Metal? hmmm...
    Jello? good question.

Some peeps go all cray cray on the Do's and Don'ts. Some say not to do anything to your hair b/c the chemicals can get soak into your skin, then the blood stream, then screw up baby forever... so I asked just in case. The nurse said, "We have a lot of hairdressers as patients, they get pregnant and have healthy babies too. I think you're fine."

Oh lemme tell you, there are plenty of other things (*ahem* heartburn, constipation, vomit, stuffy nose, mucous, a popped out belly button etc...) that come in Auntie Flo's place ;)

  3. Haha! I think obsession and the stress it causes is ultimately worse for little fetus than most other things. Someone should tell all those worry wort mommas to chillax.

Yeah. Belly button hasn't popped out.

    Yet.
