Here's the cutest little scoundrel you will ever meet.
In the ultrasound video, he was moving his fingers all around his face and here you can see his finger touching his lips...like he is definitely plotting some mischief.
I really wish I knew how to copy the video from the DVD and upload it here.
Then you could see all the cool things I saw :)
I had heard to drink OJ about half an hour before will make the little stinker more active, so I grabbed a Jamba on the way to get the mister. 16 oz of Caribbean Passion and about 10ish oz. of water makes for a very full bladder. I had to hold it for an hour (almost) then have someone push a roll-y stick thing all around my lower stomach made me a little uncomfortable...
But way worth it, don't you worry.
They put this HUUUGE tv screen in the room and turn down all the lights, so peeps can come with popcorn and make themselves cozy on the little Swedish looking couches to watch their baby's premiere. Much better than looking at a dinky computer screen circa 1988.
It lasted about 15 minutes and here are some of the things she found:
Heartrate: 149 bpm (average)
Placenta placement: high and in front
(that's the puffy grey pillow you see above his head)
this also explains why I can only feel him wiggling around wayyyy down low
Weight: 12 oz.
Length: apx. 7 inches
Vertebrae: all accounted for, Hooray!
It's the long white line on his back in the pic
Heart: all 4 chambers working (it's crazy how defined it is already)
Fingers and Toes total: twenty
Lips: no sign of cleft palate, just cute smoochy lips :)
Head: Perfect amount of fluid, no signs of Downs Syndrome
Brain: all systems go
Stomach: cute black dot in middle of his tummy, see it?
Blood flow: they color coded it so we could see it cycle from the cord through his little body
Money shot: no doubt this one had the "turtle" between his legs.
Mike and I saw it before she pointed it out
Kidneys, Diaphragm, Bladder: all functioning :)
And you can see just how cute he is already by seeing
that perfect baby profile and even those tiny ears!
We also got to see him cross and uncross his ankles, stretch his legs out, open and shut his mouth and move his hands and fingers all over. I didn't cry and neither did the mister but I bawled as soon as we got home and he went out for a drive again...
both our ways of handling lots of really big, overwhelming emotions that happen all at once.
He came back soon enough and went out to TX roadhouse to celebrate
Baby thought that was a good idea too, apparently it really digs steak and potatoes ;)
I have more pictures, but this one is the best one and the cutest by far.
I'm working on a list of what foods baby likes and what foods baby is impartial to, stay tuned!
